Grape variety: 100% cabernet franc (carmenere)
Soil profile: clay-based soils
Vineyard area: area of Colli Orientali del Friuli, Isonzo, and Grave DOC zones.

Vinification process

Fermentation: Lengthy maceration on the skins to extract aromas and colour, followed by fermentation at 20°C.
Maturation: in steel
Bottling: in late winter
Alcohol 12.5%

Wine description

Appearance: ruby tending to deep purple
Bouquet: generous, rich, and intense, with abundant fruit and spice nicely complemented by scents of fresh-mown hay.
Palate: warm and rounded, with medium body, judicious tannins, and measured acidity.

Serving suggestions

Grills, stews, and roasts of beef, pork, lamb, and kid, as well as medium-aged cheeses.
Serve at 18°C.
